First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's been a while since our last post, due to the lack of time because we moved to a new house :)

But I got the intensions to start posting more often from now on, starting with this oval!

I bought it from my friend who didn't have the time to finish this project.

Last year I helped out with a lot of work, like the welding, lowering and narrowing of this oval, and now we have to finish the oval ourselves..

I started with the engine, that was awaiting for a long time to be build back in.

Taillights mounted, completed the dashboard with parts I bought in Sweden last June.....it's starting to look like a car again!

Last weekend we went to Das Drag Day in Bitburg (Germany)

Awesome weather, and spectacular cars on the strip, so it was a perfect weekend :)

The rave on saturdaynight was crazy, tunes from 1992 so we had a party all night long!

The whole sunday relaxed at the strip, best weekend ever.....check it out for yourself!

Yesterday we went to the M.I.V.W. meeting at airport Valkenburg near Leiden!

We drove down with some light rain, but as soon as we arrived the sky cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful day!

At the end I went home with a third prize, so I got some showcase material again :)

ACN #60 - with concour!

It was CROWDED last tuesday :D

More then 120 cars came to the annual cruisenight with concour d'elegance, so the parkinglot was too small to park all the cars!

But we managed it to get all the cars on the showground.

Deluxe time!

After several months, it's time to finish that deluxe!

So I started it up, and fuel came out everywhere :S

because it has (had) an electrical pump, and the carburator flooded, the whole engine filled up with fuel :(

I could change the fuelpump and give it another try, but I decided to pull the engine out and get it done the right way!

lowering a t2b

Last week I lowered a t2b for a friend, an awesome telecom bus from the city Hameln in Germany!

Lowered the front with an adjustable beam, and the rear 2 splines and notched springplates.

Up front we went from 185R14 to 165x65x14, and in the future the reartires will be changed to 185x65x14 so the bus will sit a littlebit lower then it allready is :)

KC BBQ and Schagen 2011

This weekend we went to the BBQ at the KC headquarters, as a pre party for Schagen 2011!

It was more then fun, good food, cool cars......and a lot of liquor ;)

On sundaymorning we went early to Schagen, to get a good spot as always!

It was sunny and warm, so a lot of cars showed up :)

Drove the '52 to Chimay last weekend!

what an extreme event it still is :)

Show and shine as far as the eye can see, and dragracers from all over the world.

We drove in 6 hours to Chimay, with a loooooooooot of trafficjams, back with the crew from carsche.nl in less then 4 hours :)

Last night I went to BBT to check out the cars that will drive in a convoy to Bad Camerg this weekend.

The new shop is awesome, lots of new cars in Bob's collection, it was a good party!

Due to the bad weatherforcast, we didn't bring the oval and the split..........

We drove with "Jokertje", a T3 westfalia to the show :)

Not a showstopper, but when you put the roof up, you're ready to crash at the end of the day!

It was a perfect weekend, and the word of this weekend is "PITA KAAS!"

We made hundreds of then, everybody that drunk too much came by to pick one up ;)

BUG RUN SWEDEN!

Last weekend we went to the Bug Run in Sweden, a littlebit for work, but also to enjoy ourselves!
It was sooooooo awesome!!
A lot of watercooled, probably 90% of all the cars that showed up, but nevertheless.....it's worth to go to!

The swap is great, especially when you're looking for pre '60 parts; so we had some good scores :)

Aircooled Cruise Night #58

Tonight was the cruisenight at 7huizen again!

Because a lot of people were affraid it would start raining, only 35 cars showed up.....but we had a great time! (thanks to the sheep with the "thing" on his head.....see facebook ;)

Update on the deluxe!

It's back on his wheels, sprintstars that is!

4,5x15ET25 up front, and 5,5x15ET15 on the rear axle :)

Lowered the rear 2 outersplines, notched the springsplates, and mounted new axleboots on the IRS axles.

Now it's time to pimp it up a littlebit, install a radio, overhaul the engine, fix the lights and electrics and get a dutch registration for it :)

Bit by bit the deluxe is getting better (lower) and better (lower) :D
Yesterday I lowered the rear on one side -2 splines- and mounted the 4,5J spritstars up front!

Looks great IMHO!

The rear axles are filled with dirt and sand, and the axleboots are in very bad condition....

Hopefully the rear will be finished by the end of this week, so I can roll out to see the whole stance of the bus!

'68 sunroof deluxe going down!

Because I sold the panel last week, it's time to start working on the desertfound sunroof deluxe!

Plans are to lower it front and rear, add a set of sprintstars, and get the sunroof working again :)

I will post pictures from the work on the deluxe on the blog the next couple of weeks.

Got an axle at work, so I can make a beam first!

Add some adjusters on both axles:

Turkish '61 meets 4" beam

Last weekend I helped out Jeroen by mounting a 4" narrowed beam on his '61

He only had dropped spindles, and with the 5,5x15 Empi wheels the tires rubbed the fenders.....

We were hoping the car would be the same height with the axle in his highest position as standard, but it dropped an extra 2"!!

Looks sweet, and he will get used to it........I hope!

Arnhem Dub-inn

Today we took the oval to a local show in Arhem, the Arhem dub-inn!

It was held for the 5th time, and we had a great time!

Two or three little rainshowers, but after that the sun came right back again!
At the end of the day I took 1st price in the aircooled category, sweet!!!

Last weekend I lowered my friend Dennis his freshly restored '67 bug!

He didn't want to do an extreme loweringjob, so I made him a 2,5" narrowed and adjustable beam.

Just a 3" lower up front, the rear end already had a littlebit negative camber, so we kept it like that.

Turned out great if I may say so, happy cruisin'!

1970 2,5" narrowed beam

Last week I made a beam for my friend Chip his tiki '70 beetle.

It's a 2,5" narrowed beam, now rollin' with 5,5x15 Empi wheels.

In the near future the car will get some oldskool 4x15 stock wheels, that will really make a difference!

Last night was the first cruisenight for the new season!
Loads of cars showed up on the first one, so I can't wait till summer really starts :D

Jesse's gasser

Last week I helped out my friend Jesse with his '64 gasser.

He's building a 2175cc engine, so he wanted to have a detachable rear apron so he can fit the engine easily!

I Never say....."that's an easy job" again :(

The rear was restored before, and the previous owner f*cked it up seriously.

All doubled sheetmetal; with an 1,5" hole, they welded a 5" piece of metal on it!

But, all the extra weight is gone, and the new bumpermounts and apron are fitted on the car.....off to the painter!!

Volksworldshow 2011!

This year we went to the Volksworldshow on friday, instead of leaving 2am on saturdaymorning.

Rise and shine, we had the whole saturday!

So at the end of the day, mr. Airmighty came up with the idea to go to the Ace cafe to see some american muscle and have a beer :)

Last sunday we went with the panel to Mol!

We brought a lot of stuff with us for friends and customers, but as soon as the bus was empty my friends filled it up again, so we drove a full bus back too :S

Was a nice swapmeet as usual, with loads of rare parts..........best things we bought is a powdercoated 25hp doghouse and a 26FVIS spare carburator, both for the split!

Finished the engine yesterday!

Testrun went good, only needs some adjustments and a littlebit finetuning!

Specs are: Stock heads, Express intakes, stock 28PCI carbs, Riechert airfilters (will be replaced for mushrooms), CNC linkage, okrasa cam, OT pulley ordered, 2,5kg lightened flywheel and a 010 ignition.

Last weekend I started building up the engine after I got my crank back from Mebejo.nl.

Lightened, balanced, and new bearings!

Okrasa cam is in, and the case is closed again.

Hope to have the engine ready to put it back in the car at the end of this week!

I didn't drove much this season, but I'm taking the engine apart!

Not due to problems, but to tune it up a littlebit :)

A friend of mine was selling his 356 FRAM filter, together with his dual 28PCI carburators, intakes, filters etc etc etc

So I bought the whole set, ordered a okrasa-style camshaft, and next week I will get my lightened flywheel :)

Frontclip was allready removed by the previous owner, so that was an easy job.

Welded a whole new front on the car, the rest is up to Kevin and the painter to get it straight and in a nice colour :)

Last few days I'm working on my friend Kevin his '68 body.

He came up with a '73 1200 body last week to modify to a pre'67 looker.

I had a quick glance at the car, and it was F.U.B.A.R.!!

So he bought this swedish '68 1300, and now I'm rebuilding it to a '66 model.

The rear is ready, next week the from will come back to life :)

Just made another friend happy with a custom build 3,5" narrowed beam!

His axle was allready lowered, so we removed the shocktowers and mounted a set of lasercut shocktowers instead.

Looks much better, and the tires doesn't rubb the fenders anymore!

Took the oval for a spin today, and went to the Louman museum in the Haque.

It wasn't what I expected......three floors and 10.000 m2 of cars!!

What an awesome collection with the rarest of the rare.

It's close by for us, and the weather was good, so we took them both!

Really don't know what animal it is, from the head I almost thinks it's a small cat, but from the length of the backspline it could be a (huge) lizzard.

Not much updates, but we did a lot of work the last few weeks on the '56 oval.

the 6" narrowed beam is mounted, together with dropped spindles, late '58 backingplates with 40mm brakeshoes and a 22mm T1 mastercilinder.

Tha car is nailed to the ground, while it is still on the original swedish spikes :)

Last tuesday we had our annual ACN in Zevenhuizen (ZH)

This month we had a concours d'elegance like every year, so it was more crowded then a normal cruise night!

The prizes for tonight where a metalflake bowlingpin made by Romy!

We took our split and oval to the show.......and at the end of the night we could take our pins home, because Romy took "best typ I", my oval was "best of show"

What a blast!!

Last sunday we went to the M.I.V.W. event on the beautiful airport of Valkenburg ZH.

What a blast, the first show with the oval!

It was a very nice day, so nobody expected that more then 1350 cars would show up for this one-day event, CRAZY!

At the end of the day we waited for the prices....you never know.

And there it was......my oval on the big screen, 1st prize!

At the end all the "best of show" trophees were given away, and Bart won with his stunning oval rag!

Just before our big trip to sunny California, we made it with both cars to the aircooled cruisenight!

We got a lot of exposure, and as usual more with the split then with the oval :( no problem boefje ;)

It was nice and crowded, but we had to leave early to pack our bags!

Our newest project arrived at the shed today :)
THis one is gonna be for my buddy Alex, who helped me out with the split and the oval, so nowe it's time to do something back :)

Butt ugly..............but solid, never welded, superclean interior, and complete!

Future plans: 5"narrowed, slammed to the max, nice color, and some different wheels.

Keep an eye on the blog after the 22nd of June, then the resto will start ;)

Last few days we didn't do much!

Just some washing, waxing, polishing, mounted the Robri stoneguards on the oval, and I have a spare gasburner in the oval!

The '52 is officially dutch now!

With some help of Brenda I brought the '52 to the RDW today for the vin-number checkup.

We used a trailer, because the carb was leaking a littlebit and I didn't want to take changes with this car.

Everything went well and hopefully at the end of this week we will have the dutch papers for the '52 split!

Today we worked on the split.
Mounted the fenders, taillights, bumper, molding, etc etc etc.
It's a split again!!
And my neighbour Frank polished the rear with his special equipment, it's shines like new :)
After the RDW check the rest will be polished too.
It turned out really awesome as I may say so.

Today I finished the interior of the oval.

Everything is in, only the carpet on the innerfenders and then the backseat can be reassembled.
The glue still has to dry a littlebit, so tomorrow I can rub out all the small wrinkles.

Left pop out mounted too, so the only thing that's left is start the engine and make a testdrive :D

Because of mothersday we couldn't stay all day in the shed, but we made some progress again :)
Niels (airmighty.com) dropped by to have some coffee and shoot some pictures of the progress from both cars irl, and Roger dropped by because he had to make a testrun with his oval and to get his hands dirty on my car.

So the right door is all finished too, thnx Roger!

We started today at 9 a.m., and I closed the door at 10 p.m.

What a day!

But, we made some serious progress on both cars, and I got more and more the feeling we really gonna make it to Budel with the '52 and '55.

Aircooled Cruisenight #50!

Loads of fun at the aircooled cruisenight again!

A lot of cars showed up, although it was the 4th of May, and it was a bit chilly.

Didn't count the cars, but probably 50+ cars showed up, NICE!

Headliner is in for 2/3, only the left side needs to be done and that job is finished too!
Rearwindow is mounted too, getting more and more an oval again :)

Finally, progress again

Did a lot of work last week, but nothing you can see on pictures.
We did the wiring, semaphores, bleed the brakes, etc etc etc.
Now there's more to see, today we mounted the first door, glued in almost the whole headliner, mounted the front bumper, and some other stuff!

Split werks

Today I cut out the left sidepanel from the '52 split.

Because of some bad repairs, and a loooooooooooot of bondo, the only thing to do was weld in a whole new one.

This week we will start fitting the sidepanel, welding will be done next weekend!

Did a lot the last days, but a lot of stuff you don't see on the car :)

Gascable, chokecable, Wired the engine, fuellines conected, mounted the wipers; small things, but it needs to be done also!

today I mounted the left runningboard, rearbumper and bumperbar, venttrim .....really starts to look like a car again ;)

Minor updates

Just some small updates, didn't do much.......

Installed the taillights on the oval, reaaaaaaaaaaaal carefull :)

And the left fender for the '52 is ready and has the first layers of filler!

More tomorrow!

Day three, It's almost drivable :)

I had the day off, so another 12 hours were made on the car :)

three fenders are mounted, right runningboard, red-tip turnsignal handle, Blaupunkt Bremen installed and polished, the engine is in, the AMPCO kit is mounted, etc etc etc

I'm exhausted!!

For now some pictures, and then I'm off to bed :)

Not to much progress today, we started a bit late and we had to quit early.

But we got some sunburn, and the window is in, some trim is added, switches, T-handle.....it's going fast!

Today we picked up the oval from the painter!

I told overybody that the first thing that I wanted to mount was the tacho; so that piece went in right away :D
And after that the speedo, the ashtray, the glovebox, the steeringcolomn..........damn, bulding up goes fast!
When we keep a tempo like this, the car can be at budel, you never know ;)
